Mexico City is the capital of the country of Mexico. It's the oldest capital city in the Americas, and one of two capitals founded by Native Americans. Formerly known as "el D.F" for "Distrito Federal", the city officially became Ciudad de Mexico in January of 2016. Mexico City has its own transit system, or you may want to act brave and try your hand at driving through those streets.
