In "A Star Is Born", Jack Maine, played by Bradley Cooper, is struggling with addiction and his music career. He meets Ally, played by Lady Gaga, at a drag bar where she delivers a performance that blows Jack away. Jack learns that Ally has been trying to make her dreams of becoming a singer a reality for a long time. He invites her to his next show, where she sings on stage with him. Gradually, they begin to form a romantic relationship.
Jack starts to spiral, as is made evident after he punches his brother and manager Bobby, who makes him realize his alcoholism is getting out of control. On tour, Ally meets a record producer who wants to take her music in a pop direction. Tension grows between Jack and Ally, as he grows more and more disdained of her new image. They must juggle being in love while struggling to survive in the industry.
A Star Is Born is a movie that I would like to see. The reviews and critiques are solid from both the academy and the public. "Shallow" won an Oscar for Best Original Song as well. Both of the actors involved in the film are highly praised. Cooper being a seasoned actor, and Gaga being a strong newcomer. The other people involved in the movie, as listed above, co-wrote the title hit with Gaga. The film is also Cooper's directing debut, as previous directors taken up for possible remakes came and went. A Star Is Born brings a new perspective to watching how the music industry works and how relationships function in the business. Based on all of these attributes, I think A Star Is Born is a great movie for all audiences.
